Evelyn Joan,
87, of Louisville, passed away at her home on Friday, June 2nd.
As a cancer survivor, she lived life to the fullest; loved movies, the arts, and dancing. She was long time member of the Church of Epiphany; from the time mass was held in St. Thomas gymnasium. Just short of Life Master, she was an avid bridge player. She brought the first Remax to the Louisville area in the late 1970s and thereafter labored with great integrity during a remarkable career in which she was named the Realtor of the Year in 1988; president of the Louisville Board of Realtors in 1989; President of the Kentucky Board of Realtors in 1992; director of the National Association of Realtors in 1999; and, as a trustee in the Kentucky Real Estate Education Foundation. For her vital and lasting contributions within her profession, she was named the well-deserving recipient of the John R. Carpenter Award and the 2004 Wall of Honor Award. As a tribute to her tenacity and her unrelenting commitment to working towards the betterment of her community, she continued to labor in stewardship to her community on countless committees and organizations after receiving a liver transplant in 1990 and has participated in ten Transplant Games.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Louise (Gosebrink) Sciaroni.
Surviving her today are three sons, Joseph Pusateri (Vickie), Michael “Rocky” Pusateri (Martha), Larry Pusateri (Julie Patchett); four daughters, Denise Pusateri-Whelan (Rick), Mary Pusateri, Debbie Coleman (Thomas), Lisa Mattingly (Mike); one brother, Ernest Sciaroni; three sisters, Janet Duckworth, Jean Shaw, and Joan Bartels; eleven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; one special traveling friend Bev Miller; and several additional family and friends also survive.
Her memorial mass will be conducted on Tuesday, June 6th at 10:00 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, 914 Old Harrods Creek Rd. Louisville, KY 40223.
Memorial Visitation will be from 1 – 8 p.m. on Monday, June 5th at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd.
