Leah Christine Andrew, 36, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 17th. She was surrounded by her loving family. Leah was born August 25, 1981, in Louisville, Kentucky, where she lived her whole life. She was the first-born daughter of Jim Andrew and Gene Williams Andrew.
Those who knew Leah would describe her as being generous, kind, and having a love for life. Her generosity reached far and wide, all the way to Africa, where her donations helped those living in rural areas gain access to clean drinking water. Leah enjoyed shopping and never failed to give the perfect gift to those she loved. Leah was a big fan of the Louisville Cardinals, delighted in spending time on Florida’s beaches, and enjoyed listening to music. Her kindness was a way of life, extending to all, and especially to her family and friends whom she loved so much.
Above all else, Leah had complete faith and trust in her Lord Jesus Christ. She was courageous through her illness, keeping her eyes on Jesus, and never complaining.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Andrew; grandmother, Sarah Williams; uncle, Will Williams, and grandparents, James and Martha Andrew
Leah is survived by her mother, Gene Hasken; sister, Sarah Andrew (Aaron); brother, Nik Raque; sister Abby Raque; nephew, Asher, whom she adored, grandparents, Gene Williams , Cathy & Jim George; loving uncles, Barry Williams (Pam), David Williams (Carole); cousins, Haley Williams, Tallulah Lynch, Gia Williams; stepmother Debbie Andrew and extended family, Chuck, Theresa, Lori, Laura, Mike,, Ella and many dear friends.
Visitation with the family will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, Louisville, on Monday, November 20th, from 1-7 p.m., with funeral service on Tuesday, November 21st at 10 a.m.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the doctors and nurses for their compassionate and loving care for Leah, particularly, Dr. Renato LaRocca and Dr. Ronald Lehocky.
